Aiki-Jitsu is an
art which focuses on the idea that balance is
essential to all things. Students of the art
learn first to balance themselves physically, as
well as internally and from this ability they
learn to help others find the balance that they
have lost. Aiki-Jitsu is truly a path of self
improvement, tied by necessity to an effective
method of self-defense. A wide variety of
methods are employed in Aiki-Jitsu, but it can
be recognized mostly by the subtle flowing
throws and joint-locks and extremely effective
control of an opponent’s center of gravity.
Because of the lack of reliance on crushing
force or feats of extreme flexibility,
Aiki-Jitsu is an effective means of self-defense
for students of any age or physical condition.
Anyone can learn to use this art as a way to
protect themselves and to continually challenge
their physical selves, as well as the inner
self.
